TOURNAMENT BRACKET
LAKE CHARLES--Â McNeese women's tennis will make its fifth straight Southland Conference Tournament appearance and the third straight under head coach Helena Besovic Friday against New Orleans at 2 p.m. at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center in Beaumont, Texas.
McNeese enters the tournament as the 4th seed after posting a 7-4 conference record and are 12-10 on the year. UNO is the fifth seed after a finishing the season with a 6-5 conference record.
McNeese ended the regular season having won its last three matches. The Cowgirls will be looking for its second win over UNO this season. McNeese picked up a 4-3 win in Lake Charles in a match that came down to the no. 1 singles to determine the overall match winner.
First team All-Southland Conference Hannah Brett will lead the Cowgirls into the tournament along with All-SLC doubles partner Sarah Jurakova and the no. 2 second team all conference doubles team of Charoline Erlandsson and Vivien Borbely.
Brett leads the Cowgirls with a 16-4 overall record and has won eight of her last 10 matches. Erlandsson is 11-10 on the year, Jurakova is 8-8 and Borbely is 2-9.
Brett and Jurakova are 7-2 in doubles and Borbely and Erlandsson are 9-3 in doubles play.
Regular season champion Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is the top seed while host Lamar is the no. 2 seed. Central Arkansas is the no. 3 seed, Sam Houston State is the 7th seed and Stephen F. Austin is the 8th seed. The tournament will conclude on Sunday with the championship match set for 2 p.m.
