LAKE CHARLES – After starting the season 0-9 on the road, the McNeese Cowboys pumped out four wins over a five game span in away games, hoping to put another game in the win column this Saturday, when they travel to New Orleans to face the Privateers at Lakefront Arena.
The Privateers' Allstate Sugar Bowl Homecoming Game is set for a 4:15 p.m. tip-off.
McNeese (9-14, 6-7) has already played UNO once before this season, falling to the Privateers 82-75. Giving up the win in overtime after leading by eight at the half.
The loss at home was the first of the season for the Cowboys who were able to defend their home court for the first six contests in Burton. Since then, McNeese has lost all four games in Lake Charles.
Junior point guard
Jarren Greenwood led the offensive attack for the second game in a row with 22 points.
James Harvey and
Kalob Ledoux both finished in the double-digits as well, with 17 and 14 respectively.
Ledoux is currently leading the team with 15.2 points per game. Greenwood is just behind Ledoux with 12.9 points per game, and Harvey and Wilson each average 11.1 in each contest.
Ledoux ranks fourth in the conference against SLC opponents, putting up 18.3 points per game. Greenwood slides in at number 15, while Harvey and Wilson sit at 27
th and 29
th respectively.
Joining Ledoux at the top of the ranks is Wilson, who has been a dominant force on the glass, averaging 11.7 boards per game… no other SLC athlete averages more than 9.3 rebounds, making him the only to average a double-double stat line.
As a team, the Cowboys rank in the top five in multiple conference categories: scoring offense (5

McNeese has fallen defeated to UNO in five of the last six contests and will be looking for its first win in Lakefront Arena since 2014, when the Cowboys rose victorious 72-69. So far this season, the Privateers are 8-2 at home.
