RUSTON – McNeese will return to the diamond on Tuesday night when it visits Louisiana Tech to start a four-game road trip.
 
First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Tech's Love Field.
 
McNeese (0-3) is coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of Wichita State but showed signs of an explosive offense.
 
In the three games, the Cowboys collected 30 total hits with nine of those going for extra bases, including four home runs. The team slugged .466 which is ranked No. 2 in the Southland Conference and will carry a .291 batting average into Tuesday's game.
 
Individually, left fielder Shane Selman has exploded onto the scene early on, topping the team with a .600 batting average with three home runs and eight RBI.
 
The junior from Lake Charles opened the season with a 4-hit, 4-RBI attack in game one of the series and blasted a home run in all three games.
 
Center fielder Jacob Stracner follows Selman in hitting with a .538 average after hitting safely in all three games over the weekend including a 4-for-5, four RBI game in Sunday's finale.
 
McNeese is scheduled to throw freshman lefty Adam Goree on Tuesday, giving the true freshman is first collegiate start. Goree tossed one inning in Friday night's opener, allowing one run with a strikeout in an inning of work.
 
The Bulldogs (2-2) split a four-game season opening series at Pepperdine.
 
Following Tuesday's game, McNeese will play a three-game weekend series at Texas State before returning home to host Mississippi State on Feb. 28 to open a four-game home stand.
