Chitdara would extend the lead for the Cowgirls by defeating Maldonado 6-1 and 7-6. Chitdara was the only Cowgirl to win her match in straight sets on the day.

With Chitdara's victory the Cowgirls were now leading 3-1 and only needed one more point to secure the team victory.

In the number one spot Fioretti dropped the first set to AMCC's Boscher 4-6. Playing from behind Fioretti did not let the pressure get the best of her as she went on to win the next two sets 6-3 and 6-2 to secure the team victory for McNeese.

Playing in the number two spot Jurakova would fall to Dzinic in the first set 4-6 before storming back to win the match in the last two sets 6-2 and 6-4.

Closing out singles competition in the number four spot AMCC's Trigona defeated Mastilovic in three sets 6-1, 4-6, and 7-6.

"Today was a great win for our team. We showed a lot of character by coming together and fighting hard," said head coach Helena Besovic. "AMCC is a tough, well coached opponent that never gives up easy points. We were able to capitalize on our strengths and play great tennis. I am so proud of this team."

With the victory today the Cowgirls move into second place in the conference trailing only Northwestern State, who is undefeated in conference play.

The Cowgirls will travel to Conway Arkansas on Friday to face non-conference opponent Missouri State before facing off with Central Arkansas on Saturday in a conference match-up. Before returning home on April 7 McNeese will travel to Houston to face Rice on April 3 in a non-conference match-up.
