Cowgirls Head North for Weekend Match-ups

LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese tennis squad will head to Conway, Arkansas for a pair of match-ups this weekend against Missouri State and Central Arkansas.

The Cowgirls (10-2, 6-1 SLC) will face non-conference opponent Missouri State (5-6) on Friday at 9 a.m. before battling Southland Conference foe UCA (10-3, 3-1 SLC) at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The Cowgirls are riding a four-game winning streak into Fridays match with the Bears. This will be the first neutral site match of the season for both teams.

On Saturday the Cowgirls will be looking to hold onto their current second place ranking in the conference when they take on the sugar bears of UCA.

UCA defeated the Cowgirls Friday opponent, Missouri State, earlier this season 6-1 at home.

"We are looking forward to competing this weekend. Competition is what we love and strive in," said head coach Helena Besovic. "Everyone on the team is working very hard in practice and our goal is to keep getting better with each match we play."

With some help from other conference teams, and a victory on Saturday, the Cowgirls could clinch a tournament berth with three conference matches remaining.
