LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese Cowgirls tennis team will host Northwestern State on Friday and Stephen F. Austin on Sunday to open home Southland Conference play.
The match between the Cowgirls and the Demons was scheduled for Saturday but moved to Friday at 11 a.m. to avoid potential downpours.
McNeese (6-1, 2-0 SLC) are currently undefeated at home and enter the contest on a two game winning streak.
The Cowgirls are one of two conference teams sitting at the 2-0 mark in conference play. The other team is their opponent on Friday, Northwestern State (6-5, 2-0 SLC).
The Demons will be lead by Southland Player of the Week Polina Mutel and are riding a two game winning streak into the contest. All five of their losses have come on the road this year, and they have only been victorious once.
The Cowgirls defeated the Demons last season 5-2 in Natchitoches.
On Sunday the Cowgirls will face the Ladyjacks (0-9, 0-2 SLC) on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Ladyjacks are still looking to notch their first win of season after dropping their first nine matches.
McNeese fell to SFA last year 2-5 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
The Cowgirls will travel on the road to face Abilene Christian next weekend before returning home on March 24.
