Cowgirl Hall Of Famer Vicky Chapman McMillan Recognized at 2018 WBB HOF Induction Ceremony

LAKE CHARLES—Former McNeese women's basketball standout and Hall of Famer Vicky Chapman McMillan was one of about 100 former WBL (Women's Professional  Basketball League) players recognized as "trailblazers of the game" during the 2018 Women's Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony, June 8 in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The WBL existed from 1978-81 and was the first professional women's basketball league in the United State. All the former WBL players and coaches in attendance were brought onto the stage to receive a commemorative pin and pose for a group photo.

Chapman played for the Cowgirls from 1974-77 then played professionally for the Houston Angels for two seasons before going on to play for the New Orleans Pride.

To this day, Chapman still holds the McNeese record for points averaged in a season (25.1 ppg.), points averaged in a career (23.0 pp.), and is tied for field goals made in a game with 14 against Nicholls. McMillian was inducted into the McNeese Hall of Fame in 1985.
