Box Score NEW ORLEANS— McNeese women's tennis dropped a tightly contested 4-3 road match at Tulane here Saturday.
 
The Green Wave took an early 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point with victories at the no. 1 and no. 3 doubles.
 
Tulane opened singles play with a victory at no. 6 where Adelaide Lavery defeated Stella Carra 6-1, 6-2 to take a 2-0 overall lead.
 
McNeese's Sofia SanJoes Moreno defeated Daniela La Fuente 6-3, 6-3 at the no. 4 singles for the Cowgirls first point of the match.
 
Charoline Erlandsson and Carlotta Romito followed Moreno with two more Cowgirl victories to give McNeese a 3-2 lead. Erlandsson defeated Ivone Alvaro 6-4, 6-4 at no. 2 and Romito defeated Christina Sisti 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 at no. 5.
 
Tulane tied the match at three apiece with a win at no. 3 where Elena Muller defeated Marija Mastilovic 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.
 
The deciding match came down to the top singles where fans were treated to a three-set match that went in the favor of Tulane.
 
McNeese's Giovanna Fioretti took the first set of the match 6-7 from Laura Fabrizi but dropped the next two 7-5, 6-4 to give Tulane the overall match victory.
 
The Cowgirls (0-2) will continue its road trip with a Sunday match at South Alabama. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
