LAKE CHARLES—Sophomore
Bre'Ashlee Jones was named the F. E. Salter Most Valuable Player Sunday at the McNeese women's basketball annual awards banquet.
Jones, the native of Kentwood, Louisiana averaged 9.4 ppg. And 6.3 rpg. this season. She was second on the team in rebounds and second on the team with a 43.3 field goal shooting percent. Jones recorded four double-doubles, scored in double figures in 10 games, grabbed 10 or more rebounds seven times and led McNeese in assists in six games. Jones was also presented with the community service award.
Junior transfer
Damilola Balogun was presented with the Frances T. King Memorial Rebound Award after leading the Cowgirls with 8.2 rpg. and a .45.9 field goal percent. The native of Lagos, Nigeria ranked third with 9.2 rpg. in conference games. Balogun led McNeese with a team high five double-doubles on the year and recorded 10 or more rebounds in nine games. Balogun was also presented with the Newcomer of the Year Award.
