NEW ORLEANS – McNeese will take the Southland Conference's longest current winning streak into the Crescent City on Saturday when the Cowboys visit preseason league favorite New Orleans.

The Cowboys (8-9, 3-3 SLC) are coming off their third consecutive win after Wednesday's 72-56 victory over Incarnate Word. That moved the Cowboys to the .500 mark in league play and just two games out of the loss column for first place in the standings.
UNO (6-11, 2-5) defeated HBU 106-98 in its last game for its second straight win in the last three games. The Privateers dropped their first four conference games of the season before defeating Central Arkansas last Saturday in New Orleans.
McNeese will go into Saturday's game ranked No. 3 in the league in field goal percentage (51.2), three-point shooting (42.0), three-point field goals made per game (9.1), No. 2 in rebounding margin (3.5) and assists per game (16.1), and third in scoring (81.4 ppg).
Individually, junior guard Dru Kuhausen continues to lead all of Division I basketball in three-pointers made (72) while ranking second in the nation in three-pointers made per game (4.2) and 3FG percentage (50 percent).
McNeese has three players ranked in the top nine in the conference in scoring –
A.J. Lawson (No. 5, 16.7 ppg),
Sha'markus Kennedy (No. 7, 16.1 ppg), and Kuxhausen (ninth at 15.6 ppg). The Cowboys are the only team in the league with three players ranking in the top 10.
Kennedy tops the league and is seventh nationally by hitting 66.7 percent of his shots on the season and is second in the conference and 50
th in the NCAA in rebounding with a 9.2 average. He's coming off his fifth double-double of the season following a 12 point, 16 rebound outing against UIW.
UNO is led in scoring by Bryson Robinson who ranks third in the league with 17.5 points per game.
The Privateers have dominated the series the last few years and have won six straight and eight of the last 10 meetings. McNeese's last win came on Feb. 11, 2016 by way of an 87-76 score in Lake Charles.
