RUSTON—McNeese women's tennis freshman Hanna Blinouskaya picked up her first career win as a Cowgirl here Sunday with a 4-6, 7-5, 10-5 win over Louisiana Tech's Andrea Perez and the Cowgirls picked up their first win of the season with a 4-1 victory over Grambling in the second of two matches of the day. The Cowgirls fell 5-2 to La. Tech in the first match of the doubleheader.
 
The other singles victory for the McNeese against La. Tech came at the no. 1 spot where Marija Mastilovic defeated Nadja Manjon 7-5, 6-3. The win for Mastilovic is her first win of the season.
 
McNeese opened the match by winning the no. 2 double match made up of Matilde Mulatero and Sofia San Jose Moreno who defeated Claudia Oravcova and Ana Jover 6-2. McNeese dropped the doubles point with a loss at no. 2 and a default at no. 3.
 
The Cowgirls ended their day by picking up a 4-1 victory over Grambling to end the day with a 1-1 record. The only loss in the match was due to having only five players which gave Grambling a point in singles play.
 
The Cowgirls swept through the double matches with Mastilovic and Binouskaya defeating Brittany Combest and Ana Ochoa 6-2 at no. 1 doubles and Matilde Mulatero and Sofia San Jose Moreno picking up a 6-2 win over Dana Galeano and Natalie Malone at the no. 2 doubles.
 
McNeese continued to roll to the victory by winning three of the singles matches with victories coming at no. 1, 3, and 4. The no. 2 and 5 singles were not completed since the Cowgirls reached four points first.
 
McNeese (1-3) will travel to Houston on Friday to play the University of Houston in an 11 a.m. match then will travel to Dallas Saturday for a 5:30 p.m. match against SMU.
