Cowgirls Host East Texas Baptist In Home Opener Thursday

| By:
LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will host East Texas Baptist in its home opener Thursday night at Burton Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, there are several rules fans will need to follow when attending all home games.

Also, the first 2,000 fans will be admitted free. Donations towards the "Rebuild McNeese" drive will be accepted at the entrance.

McNeese (0-2) returned to Lake Charles on Tuesday after being displaced in Baton Rouge for two months due to hurricanes Laura and Delta.

The Cowgirls added this game to the schedule when their Dec. 5 game at Southern Miss was canceled earlier this week.

McNeese is coming off a 99-44 road loss at Ole Miss on Monday that saw the Cowgirls lacking consistency where they missed several chip shots.

Senior Callie Maddox, who leads the team in scoring with 11.5 ppg. has scored in double figures in both games played.

Junior Divine Tanks and sophomore Maia Robinson lead the team in rebounds with 5.0 per contest.

East Texas Baptist (3-0) is a Division III school from Marshall, Texas and a member of the American. The Tigers wins have come over Transylvania University, Piedmont College, and most recently an 83-59 win against Sul Ross Tuesday night.
