LAKE CHARLES— The McNeese Baseball team hit the road for the first time this season, as they are headed to Thibodaux to participate in the Mardi Gras Tournament hosted by Nicholls.
 
The Cowboys (4-1) will look to bounce back from a mid-week 7-4 loss to LA Tech on Tuesday, winning their first four games of the season. The Cowboys will play three games on the weekend, one against Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday at 2 p.m. and two against host Nicholls, one on Sunday at 6 p.m. and the last on Monday at 6 p.m.
 
Little Rock (3-1) enters the game winning three of their first four games, two wins against Illinois State on opening weekend and the third against Grambling State this past Wednesday.
 
The Cowboys have dominated the Trojans in the past, winning six of the seven total matchups. The last time the two faced-off was in 2009 when they split a two-game mid-week series at then Cowboy Diamond.
 
Sophomore stud LHP Will Dion is penciled in to make the start on Saturday, his second start of the season, in which he is coming off a 12 K six inning no hitter against Mississippi Valley State opening night.
 
Meanwhile, Nicholls (1-3) enters the weekend on a high after beating the No. 11 ranked LSU Tigers in Thibodaux on Wednesday 4-2, to pick up their first win of the year.
 
Nicholls and McNeese have a long history, this will be the 156^th meeting between the two schools and McNeese will look to continue their success against them after sweeping them in last seasons Mardi Gras Tournament at The Jeaux.
