FRISCO, Texas—McNeese senior forward
Damilola Balogun has been named to the 2020 All-Southland Conference Women's Basketball team, the league announced today.
Balogun, the native of Lagos, Nigeria was named to the second team after averaging a double double with 12.5 ppg. and led the conference in rebounds with 11.6 rpg. in conference games only. She ranked second in the SLC with an 83.9 free throw percent, recorded 13 double doubles this season and led the Cowgirls in scoring in nine games. In her last 14 games of her career, Balogun recorded nine double doubles this season and at one point during the conference season, she produced a string of five straight double doubles.
Overall, Balogun led the Cowgirls in scoring (11.1 ppg.) and rebounds (10.5 rpg.). The honor is the first of her career.
