McNeese battles St. Francis Brooklyn at ECC

NICEVILLE, Florida - McNeese will open up bracket play against St. Francis Brooklyn at 11 a.m. on Friday in the first round of the Emerald Coast Classic.

McNeese (2-3) will be looking to add to its win total after Monday's 98-54 win over Carver College. St. Francis Brooklyn (0-4) dropped a hard-fought game against St. John's 76-70 in its last outing on Tuesday. The Terriers have also lost games to Wisconsin, St. Thomas (Minn.) and Penn State.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools. The winner of the game will play the winner of the Samford/North Carolina A&T contest at 12:30 on Saturday while the two losers will play at 10 a.m.

The game will broadcast on the McNeese Sports Network (92.1 FM and mymagiclc.com) and will also be streamed HERE.

Game Notes:
• McNeese is averaging 107 points and outscoring opponents 107-60 in its two wins.
• For the season, McNeese is outscoring opponents 77-74.
• Bendan Medley-Bacon leads the team in scoring with a 12.2 average and is the only Cowboy averaging in double-digits.
• Freshman Christian Shumate tops the team in rebounding with an 8.0 average.
• Shumate is averaging 12.7 points and right at 10 rebounds per game the last three outings while connecting on 55 percent from the field (16 for 29).
• The Cowboys set a new single-game school record with 22 steals in a 116-66 win over Champion Christion on Nov. 15.
• The Terriers are being outscored 81-65 on the season.
• SFC has two players averaging double-digits in scoring - Patrick Emilien at 12.8 and Michael Cubbage a 10.5 average.
• The Terriers are a member of the Northeast Conference and have been picked for a seventh place finish in the league's preseason poll.
• SFC posted a 9-10 record last season and 9-9 in conference play.
• SFC is coached by Glenn Braica who is entering his 12th season at the helm.
