LAKE CHARLES – McNeese will not renew the contract of Cowgirls basketball head coach

Cryer spent 12 seasons on the Cowgirls' staff, the last five as head coach, and compiled a 44-97 record as head coach with a 29-59 mark in Southland Conference play. Her best season was her first as head coach in the 2016-17 season where her team posted a 14-17 overall record and 8-10 mark in league play, finishing sixth in the conference standings.
"We appreciate the years of service Coach Cryer gave to Cowgirl basketball," said Schroyer. "The dedication to her student-athletes was admirable. I wish her all the best in her future endeavors."
McNeese will conduct a nationwide search immediately for a new head coach.
