NATCHITOCHES – McNeese tennis dropped a 5-2 Southland Conference match here Sunday afternoon to Northwestern State and closing out its road schedule for the season.
The loss dropped the Cowgirls to 1-12 overall and 1-4 in league play while NSU improved to 4-3 and 3-3. McNeese will return to action on Wednesday when it hosts the University of Houston at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center. It'll be the first of six straight home matches to close out the regular season.
On Sunday, the Cowgirls dropped the doubles point after NSU won in the No. 1 and 2 positions by 6-0 scores.

Natalia Ballo continued her good play by winning the No. 4 singles match by scores of 6-3, 7-5 against NSU's Judit Castillo. It would mark Ballo's second win in the last three matches and third in the last five.
Luna Jokanovic returned to action after missing the last nine matches, and defeated Patrycja Polanska 6-4, 6-4 for her second straight singles' win.
NSU won in straight sets in the No. 1, 2, 3 and 5 singles action.
