The McNeese Track and Field "Back the Track" fundraising campaign is in full swing and has raised nearly 75 percent of its goal of $7,500 with 15 days remaining.
 
Supporters can donate by visiting the website greauxblue.mcneese.edu and selecting the "Back the Track" McNeese Relay Team project.
 
Donors can choose three different levels of giving - $25, $50, or $100. The first 75 $100 donations will receive a specially commissioned "Back the Track" Relay Team member baton.
 
Donations will be used to help cover costs of facility repairs after the destruction caused by hurricanes Laura and Delta as well as providing funds for equipment, uniforms, travel, meals, etc.
 
Over the years, the track and field program has prided itself on funding the program from within the organization by hosting multiple events throughout the year with upwards of 12 events, high school and college (cross country, indoor and outdoor events), but due to the damage caused by the hurricanes, the facilities aren't in shape to host any event, including the 2021 Southland Conference Outdoor Championships that was initially scheduled to be held at McNeese in May.
