BATON ROUGE – McNeese track and field posted several first place finishes at Saturday's LSU Battle on the Bayou meet as the squad continued its outdoor season.
 
Cowboy javelin thrower Donavon Banks picked up another first place finish on the season after throwing 233-5 on the day while teammate Hunter Longino placed third with a 199-4 throw.
 
Joey Croft won the 1500-meter race with a time of 3:56.71 and Jacob Kipkogei took the honors in the 3000-meters with a time of 8:39.0.
 
Kobe Nevills picked up a second place finish in the 400-meters with a time of 48.21.
 
On the women's side, Blanche Beard finished first in the javelin event with a mark of 140-4 to mark her second consecutive first place finish while in the 3000-meters, the Cowgirls finished 2-3-4 behind the running of Aurelia Jepkorir (10:15.16), Pamela Kosegi (10:41.33), and Alissa Lander (10:47.92).
 
Kayla Warner had a second place finish in the 800-meters (2:18.66) and Jemira Thomlinson finished second in the discus with a throw of 157-7.
