LAKE CHARLES – McNeese tennis dropped a 7-0 decision to Sam Houston in Southland Conference women's tennis action on Friday.
 
The Cowgirls fall to 1-15 on the season and 1-8 in conference play while Sam Houston improves to 14-3 and 9-1 as it sits atop the league standings.
 
Cowgirl Carlotta Romito put up a battle in the No. 3 singles before falling in three sets to the Bearkats' Isador Zivkovic 6-7, 6-3, 10-8. Luna Jokanovic had a good match in the No. 4 singles before dropping a 6-4, 7-5 match to Sahithi Vutukuru.
 
Natalia Ballo saw her three-match win streak come to an end in the No. 2 group, falling 6-3, 6-2 to Karla Montalvo
 
McNeese will return to action on Sunday when it hosts Stephen F. Austin at 11 a.m. at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center.
