EUGENE, Oregon – McNeese and Southland Conference heptathlon record holder Grace McKenzie will begin her quest on Friday to become an NCAA champion and two-time, first team NCAA All-American when she opens up action in the 100-meter hurdles for the first of four events to take place on the day.

ESPN3 will broadcast all events of the heptathlon.

McKenzie, this year's conference gold medalist in the heptathlon, will enter the national championships ranked No. 13 in the NCAA and was cleared just Wednesday by the meet doctor to compete this weekend after battling an Achilles injury that kept her out of her two open events at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Jacksonville, Florida a couple of weeks ago.

The Ireland native finished eighth at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships in the pentathlon to earn first team All-American honors.

The 100-meter hurdles portion of the multi-event slate will get underway at 2 p.m. Central Time on Friday followed by the high jump at 3 p.m., shot put at 5 and 200-meters at 8:43.

The heptathlon will conclude on Saturday with three events, beginning with the long jump at 1 p.m. CT, javelin at 2:15 and the 800-meters are 6:43.

On Wednesday, Cowboy javelin throwers Donavon Banks and Hunter Longino earned All-American accolades – Banks second team honors after placing 14 and Longino picking up honorable mention honors with a 23rd place finish.
