LAKE CHARLES- McNeese Track and Field Program will be holding the 7th annual "McNeese Cowboy Club" Gallop 5K road race on Oct. 9 while a virtual 5k will be held Oct. 7-9 on a course of your choice.

All proceeds will benefit the McNeese Track and Field program which is still recovering from damages caused by Hurricanes Laura and Delta.

The in-person 5K road race will loop around the McNeese campus and athletic facilities. A kid's 1K race will also be held.

Early registration for the races ends Sept. 21 with cost for the 5K race being $30 while the 1K is $20 and will guarantee a long sleeve t-shirt for each entrant. After Sept. 21, cost is $35 for the 5K and $25 for the 1K.

Awards will be given for the overall male/female, masters male/female, grand masters, and winner in the 5K for the following age groups – 1-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. All 1K entrants will receive an award.
