COLLEGE STATION, Texas— It was another tough outing on the courts for the McNeese women's tennis team here Monday as the Cowgirls weren't able to get into the win column for the second day of action this season, falling 7-0 to Tarleton State in a match that was played on the campus of Texas A&M..
Despite the loss, McNeese (0-2) extended two singles matches to three sets with
Matilde Mulatero dropping her first set 3-6 at the No. 2 singles to Jemi Aguilar. Mulatero evened the match at one set apiece by winning the second set 7-5 to force a third set.
Ariane Monlleo Sanchis also forced her match to a third set at the No. 4 spot. Sanchis dropped her opening set 2-6 to Elis Boisson before going on to win the second set 6-2 to force a third set. Unfortunately, Boisson prevailed 7-5 in the final set to take the victory.
McNeese will continue its season on the road when it travels to Florida this weekend for matches at Florida A&M on Saturday and Florida State on Sunday.
