17 first place finishes and 25 PRs highlight indoor meet

Janell Fullerton set a complex record in the shot put.
LAKE CHARLES – McNeese athletes broke two Ralph Ward Complex records while 25 Cowboys and Cowgirls posted new personal records Saturday on day two of the McNeese Indoor & Multis, capping the only home meet for the Cowboys and Cowgirls this season.
 
Cowgirl transfer thrower Janell Fullerton won the shot put with a complex record of 50-9.25, her best throw as a Cowgirl. Middle distance runner Kayla Warner finished first in the 600 meters with a complex record time of 1:35.09. The duo accounted for two of 11 first place finishes for the Cowgirls on the day.
 
Malaiya Jedkins was a double winner on the day, taking first in both the long jump with a PR mark of 18-10, and ending the night with a win in the triple jump at 40-4. Other first place finishes included: Dreunna Washington finished first in the 55 meters with a PR time of 7.22; Reagan West 8.78 in the 55 meter hurdles; Makayla Heath in the 200 meters with a PR time of 26.46; Ciara Gilroy in the 800 meters with a PR time of 2:18.48; Sakari Famous in the high jump at 5-5.25; Maja Gebauer in the pole vault with a McNeese PR of 12-3.5; and the 4x400-meter relay team at 4:00.72.
 
The Cowboys posted first place finishes in six events.
 
Kameron Quinn won the 55 meters with a 6.48; DaMarion Roane clocked a 22.07 to win the 200 meters; Joey Croft finished first in the 3000 meters with a PR time of 8:22.84; Patrick Boudreaux placed first in the high jump with a PR mark of 6-4.75; Ronnie Jackson in the triple jump at 46-5.5; and the 4x400 'A' team won the event with a time of 3:20.29.
