LAKE CHARLES- McNeese volleyball extended its winning streak to five matches and picked up its sixth straight set win in its last eight matches here Thursday night with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-20) Southland Conference win over Nicholls.

With the win, McNeese (13-13, 9-3 SLC) has now won eight of its last nine matches and remains tied for first place in the league standings with Houston Christian. The Huskies also picked up a straight set win over Northwestern State tonight.

Skyeler Embry led the Cowgirls' offense with her first double double of the season with a match high 14 kills to go along with 10 digs. Embry also ended the match with a .364 hitting percent, committing only two errors in 33 attempts.

Nejra Hanic joined Embry in the double figure kill column with 11 while
McKenzie Moore hit .474 with nine kills in 19 attempts without an error.

Three other Cowgirls picked up double figure digs with
Bailey Tillman leading all players with 21.
Kendall Osgood came off the bench to pick up 13 and
Lizzy Low added 12.

Setters Mia Perales and Dejah Dade ran the offense efficiently and dished out 25 and 17 assists, respectively.

As a team, McNeese hit .279 on the night with 48 kills in 136 attempts. The Cowgirls were all over the floor on defense, ending the match with 76 digs.

McNeese will conclude its week with a 1 p.m. match at New Orleans on Saturday.
