COMMERCE, Texas—McNeese women's soccer fell 2-1 to Texas A&M-Commerce here Saturday morning in its regular season finale following a day of postponement due to inclement weather in a game that was scheduled for Friday.
McNeese (5-8-4, 3-5-4 SLC) avoided the shutout with a goal in the 87
th minute by Salma Elhaimer on an assist by Matilde Tesgaard. The goal for Elhaimer is her fourth of the season while the assist for Tesgaard is her second.
Texas A&M-Commerce (7-8-2, 7-4-1 SLC) took a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals in the 28
th minute from Valerie Flores with the second goal coming in the 33
rd minute off a penalty kick.
McNeese will continue its season next week (Nov. 2-6) at the Southland Conference in Natchitoches.
