PEORIA, IL.— Turnovers proved costly here Saturday in McNeese Women's Basketball's 77-58 loss at Bradley in the second game of its four game Midwest trip.
McNeese (1-3) turned the ball over 24 times and Bradley (1-3) scored 26 points off those turnovers.
The Cowgirls shot 69.2 percent in the first quarter but cooled off in the next three quarters, ending the game with a 36.2 field goal shooting percent on 21 of 58 shots made.
McNeese won the rebound battle, grabbing 50 to 43 by Bradley.
Autumn Watts led the Cowgirls in scoring with a season high 14 points while Stephanie Guihon added 12 points.
Desirae Hansen led McNeese with 10 rebounds.
Bradley placed three players in double figure scoring with Caroline Watts leading all players with 22 points. Isis Fitch scored 17 points and Daja Powell added 11. Powell completed her double double with 11 points.
McNeese will play at No. 8 Ohio State Sunday. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. (CT).

The Cowgirls' offense was effective in the first quarter with the Cowgirls shooting 69.2 percent from the field on 9 of 13 and the Cowgirls trailed 23-22 after the first period.

nd QUARTER
The Cowgirls' offense cooled off in the second quarter, making 3 of 13 attempts for a 23.1 field goal percent. McNeese trailed 31-30 with 2:11 left in the half but Bradley went on a 5-0 run to end the half to hold a 36-30. The Cowgirls turned the ball over 13 times in the first half and Bradley capitalized on them by scoring 15 of their 36 first half points off those turnovers.

Bradley opened the quarter on a 6-2 run in the first four minutes to take a 42-32 lead. McNeese went on a run of its own to cut the lead in half a 45-40 with 3:53 left in the quarter. Two free throw by Stubblefield cut the Bradley lead to four 45-41. Two more free throws by Guihon with just over a minute cut the lead to two points but Bradley scored on its next possession to lead 48-44 at the end of the period.
4th QUARTER
Bradley extended its lead to 11 points (56-45) with 5:51 left in the game but five straight points by Watts cut the lead back to single digits 57-50 with 5:09 to play. In the next three minutes, Bradley would go on a 12-0 run to take its largest lead of the game (69-50).
