LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's tennis dropped its home opener, 4-0 to UL-Lafayette here Sunday at the Lake Charles Racquet Club.
 
The Cajuns (3-2) opened the match by winning two of the doubles matches to jump out to a 1-0 lead. ULL then went on to pick up singles wins at no. 1 where Lucie Raquin defeated Carlotta Romito 6-1, 6-1 for a 2-0 lead. A Matilde Mulatero 6-2. 6-2 loss to Catarina Zheng at the no. 2 singles followed by a Momoko Yoshimura 6-2, 6-1 win over Yukina Abe at the no. 5 singles gave the Cajuns four wins and the match. The rest of the matches in progress were unfinished due to the first team reaching four points.
 
The Cowgirls (1-6) will remain home for its next four matches with its next match slated for next Saturday, Feb. 19 against Weatherford College.
