Cowboys visit Nicholls, UNO in attempt to improve standings

THIBODAUX - McNeese will continue its final regular season overnight road trip this week when it visits Nicholls on Thursday and UNO on Saturday.
 
The Cowboys are 0-1 vs. the Colonels this season (L, 81-71 in Lake Charles on Jan. 27) and 1-1 against the Privateers (W, 92-82 in 2 ot at the SLC Tip-Off Tournament on Jan. 6 then fell at home 84-78 on Jan. 30).
 
Broadcasting:
• Both games will broadcast on the McNeese Sports Network (Magic 92.1 FM and mymagiclc.com).
• Saturday's game at UNO will air live on ESPN+.

• Playing without three regulars and with a fourth leaving the second half with an injury, McNeese overcame a Northwestern State second half rally with a rally of its own to down the Demons 80-75.
• The Cowboys outscored the Demons 19-9 over the final 6:08 of the game including a 16-0 run from the 6:36 mark to 42 seconds remaining.
• Zach Scott poured in 21 points behind a career-tying five three-pointers made while Christian Shumate and Brendan Medley-Bacon each scored 14 and Trae English with a career-best 13 points.
