LAKE CHARLES – McNeese will look to put the kibosh on its current three-game skid on Saturday when it hosts rival Northwestern State to in Southland Conference action to close out a four-game home stand.

Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Legacy Center and will follow a 1 o'clock women's game between the two schools.

At halftime of the men's game, the McNeese Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2021 will be introduced. That class includes Tierre Brown (men's basketball), Terence Davis (football), Alanna DiVittorio (softball), Alan Heisser (football), Bryan Hicks (football), Flip Johnson (football), Joe Judge (football), Reggie Nelson (football), David Rooney (track and field), and Matt Viator (football coach).

The Cowboys (8-15, 2-4 SLC) are coming off an 83-78 loss to Southeastern on Thursday night in a game where McNeese jumped out to an early lead then fell behind by as many as 17 points late in the game, only to rally to pull to within one possession with the ball with under a minute to play. But the Lions were able to hold on to escape the win, the second over the Cowboys this season.

Collin Warren sank a career-high four three-pointers to lead him to a team-high 19 points while
Zach Scott added 17,
Christian Shumate 15 and
Brendan Medley-Bacon 10.

Northwestern State (7-16, 3-3) won its third consecutive game after rallying to beat HBU 97-87 behind a school record-tying 17 three-pointers made. Two Demons reached the 20-point mark in the contest – LaTerrance Reed with 21 and Carvell Teasett 20 while Kendal Coleman added 12 points and 13 rebounds.

NSU shot a whopping 61 percent from the field, including 68 percent in the first half where it also knocked down 10 of 13 from long range.

For the season, Shumate leads the team with 11.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
Myles Lewis is chipping in with 10.5 per contest
Kellon Taylor with a 10.2 mark.

The Demons, who are averaging 89 points a game during their current winning streak, are led in scoring with Coleman's 14.7 average.
