NEW ORLEANS—McNeese women's tennis dropped its Southland Conference opener 7-0 at New Orleans here Saturday. The Cowgirls will continue its road trip at Southern Miss Sunday with an 11 a.m. match.
McNeese (1-9, 0-1 SLC) dropped the doubles point with a 6-1 loss at the No. 1 doubles and a 6-2 loss at the No. 3 doubles to trail 1-0. The Cowgirls then dropped all six singles matches but had a glimpse of hope and nearly picked up a point at No. 4 where
Aina Domingo-Bernabeu dropped her match to Salma Abdelrahim in three sets including a second set tie-breaker 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 10-3.
UNO improved to 8-3 overall and 1-0 in league play with the win.
