Ciara Gilroy ran a PR in the 1500m on Saturday at Rice.
HOUSTON – McNeese Track & Field had just a handful of athletes compete on the final day at the Rice Victor Lopez Classic, but those entered in the men's and women's 800 and 1500-meters either recorded a new personal record or season best times.
Aaron Gilliam finished third in the men's 1500m with a time of 3:52.19 to post a new PR.
Omer El-Fadl finished fourth with a season-best time of 3:55.00 while
James Hyland clocked a 4:00.38 for a season-best.
On the women's side,
Ciara Gilroy clocked a new personal record in the women's 1500m with a time of 4:42.45 for a seventh place finish.
Grace Sullivan ran a season-best in the event with a 5:06.11.
- In the men's 800m three runners recorded season bests – Elias Loriposia (6th place, 1:54.71), Filippo Squassina (10th, 1:56.15), and Pavel Kraus (19th, 2:00.08).
- The women's 800m had both Cowgirls post season-best times - Irene Barreiro-Lopez (4th, 2:16.02) and Priscilla Ibarra (15th, 2:28.22).
The Cowboys and Cowgirls will continue outdoor action next Saturday at the LSU Battle on the Bayou.
