NEW ORLEANS-- McNeese women's tennis team picked up a 4-2 win over Loyola (N.O.) Saturday to improve to 2-12 on the year.

The Cowgirls won the doubles point by winning all three matches for the early 1-0 lead. McNeese then picked up three singles wins to seal the match victory.

The Cowgirl singles victories came at No. 2 where Aina Domingo-Bernabeu defeated Fantina Vasquez 6-1, 6-0. Natalie Ballo defeated Madelynn Chavez 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 3 singles and Yukina Abe defeated Elly Carpenter 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 4 singles.

Loyola picked up its singles wins at the No. 1 where Matilde Mulatero fell 7-5, 6-2 to Lucy Carpenter and the other win cam by forfeit due to a Cowgirl injury.

McNeese will conclude its weekend with a Southland Conference match at Nicholls on Sunday. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
