BATON ROUGE – McNeese Track & Field returns to action on Saturday at the LSU Battle on the Bayou at the Carl Maddox Field House.
 
Field events will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the women's discus while running events start at 12:30 p.m. with the women's steeplechase.
 
McNeese Track & Field Notes:
• The Cowgirls enter the weekend ranked No. 18 and the Cowboys 21^st in the latest USTFCCCA South Central Region Top 25 poll. The Cowgirls are the highest ranked team in the Southland Conference.
• Several Cowgirls are ranked No. 1 in the league in their respective event – Danna Diaz in the 800m, Aurelia Jepkorir in the 5000m, Sakari Famous in the high jump, Malaiya Jedkins in the triple jump, and Blanche Beard in the javelin.
• Famous is ranked No. 8 in the NCAA East and 16^th overall in the NCAA in the high jump with a height of 5-9.75 that was reached at last week's Texas Relays.
• Beard is 15^th in the NCAA East and 35^th overall in NCAA in the javelin with a throw of 159-2, also at the Texas Relays.
• The Cowgirls' 4x400 relay team is No. 1 in the league with at time of 3:47.58 clocked at the Texas Relays.
• On the men's side, Jacob Kipkogei is No. 2 in the 10,000 meters, Joey Croft if 2^nd in the 3000m steeplechase and Tyler Challis is 3^rd in the hammer throw.
• Sprinter Zac Martin is 5^th in the SLC in the 100m, 36^th in the NCAA East and 59^th overall in the NCAA with a time of 10.41 at the Louisiana Classics.
• Newcomer Jalon White will make is outdoor debut on Saturday in the 400m. White won the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship in the 400m while running for Quincy in 2021.
