LAKE CHARLES – McNeese track and field will split squads on Saturday as the middle distance and long distance runners will head west to take part in the Rice Fred Duckett Invite while the sprinters, jumpers and throwers will compete at the NSU Leon Johnson Invitational in Natchitoches.
Both the Cowboys and Cowgirls enter their meets ranked No. 2 in the Southland Conference behind Incarnate Word, according to the USTFCCCA. In the latest South Central regional rankings, the Cowgirls dropped one spot to No. 16 while the Cowboys are 26
th, falling four spots from last week's poll.
