Kendall Osgood recorded career high's while
Kendall Glueck tied a career high in McNeese volleyball's 3-2 (25-21, 25-19, 16-25, 25-27, 15-9) win over Sam Houston Thursday afternoon on the first day of the 2022 City of Lacy Lakeview Tournament hosted by Baylor.
Perales dished out a career high 38 assists, Osgood was credited with a career high 17 digs, and Glueck tied her career high with 22 kills.
With the win, McNeese extended its winning streak to three matches and improved to 4-8 on the season. Sam Houston falls to 3-9 on the season with the loss.
McNeese took a commanding 2-0 match lead by taking the first two sets but the BearKats evened the match at two sets apiece by winning the next two sets to send the match to a deciding fifth set.
The Cowgirls were nearly flawless in the fifth set on its way to the win. The Cowgirls hit .600 in the final set that included 12 kills in 20 attempts without committing a hitting error. The only errors for the Cowgirls in the set were two serving errors.
McNeese held an 8-4 lead when the teams switched sides then three straight points put the Cowgirls up 11-4 before going on to win the set and the match.
The Cowgirls will face Tulsa at 10 a.m. and #14 Baylor at 7 p.m. Friday to conclude tournament play.
