Cowboys 13th in latest XC South Central Region Poll

LAKE CHARLES – Fresh off a second place finish at this past Saturday's Cowboy Cross Country Stampede, the McNeese Cowboys moved up one spot to No. 13 in this week's USTFCCCA Men's Cross Country South Central Region Top 15 poll.
 
The Cowboys recorded 48 points in the meet, finishing behind champion Rice who is ranked 8th in the poll. Arkansas tops the poll followed by Texas, Texas A&M, Tulane and Arkansas State to round out the top five.
 
McNeese finished ahead of Lamar in the meet, who is ranked 10th in the poll
 
On the women's side, the Cowgirls took first in the meet but didn't manage to break into the top 15. Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU and SMU are the top five in the poll.
 
The Cowboys and Cowgirls will be back in action on Oct. 15 when they compete at the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational and the final meet before the Oct. 28 Southland Conference Championships.
