PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas—McNeese women's tennis opened its 2023 season with a 5-2 win over Prairie View here Friday night in the first of two matches in Texas this weekend. The win marks the first McNeese for first year head coach Gabby Moore.
McNeese will travel to San Antonio, Texas Sunday where they will play Our Lady of the Lake on the campus of Incarnate Word. First serve is scheduled for 9 a.m.
McNeese (1-0) dropped the doubles point then regrouped following a rain delay to win five of the six doubles points to take the match. The Cowgirls took a 3-1 match lead with wins at the no. 3, 5, and 6 singles then clinched the match with the win at the top singles match.
