Pitt forces draw against Southeastern on first collegiate goal

LAKE CHARLES - Alexi Pitt, a redshirt freshman, helped McNeese soccer (7-5-3, 4-1-2 SLC) to a 1-1 draw against Southeastern (5-9-1, 3-4-1 SLC) in the late minutes of the match at Cowgirl Field Sunday night.

"I felt there was some grit tonight and some determination," said head coach Drew Fitzgerald. "At the end of the day, our girls continued to fight and compete and found a way to get the point and get the game even."

The Lions took a 1-0 lead in the second half in the 58th minute. McNeese responded with Pitt's first collegiate goal in the 82nd minute of play to make it a 1-1 draw.

The Cowgirls take to the road against UIW on Friday at 6:30 p.m. for a two-game road trip.

- With her 68th career start, Kiana Kukaua is three away from being tied at seventh all-time for McNeese.
- Kukaua is also eighth in career minutes played at 5,837:42.
- Jackie Kelly is fifth all-time in career saves at 157.
- Kelly is tied for fourth in goalie games played at 40, tied third most career goalie starts.
- The team has its fourth-most ties in a season at three.
