SAN ANTONIO - McNeese's soccer program (7-6-3, 4-2-2 SLC) fell to UIW (6-7-1, 3-5-0 SLC) 2-0 at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium Friday night.
"UIW played a good match and I thought we started a little flat but played our way into the game," said head coach
Drew Fitzgerald. "I continue to be impressed with our team's willingness to compete regardless of circumstances."
UIW scored the first goal of the match in the 76th minute of play for a 1-0 advantage. In the final 63 seconds of play, the Cardinals scored once more for the 2-0 victory.
McNeese returns to action against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Sunday afternoon at Dr. Jack Dugan Soccer & Track Stadium.
