LAKE CHARLES— McNeese volleyball completed an undefeated 3-0 week Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 (25-16, 25-18, 23-25, 25-13) Southland Conference win over Texas A&M-Commerce.
The win is the 11
th in the last 14 matches for the Cowgirls as they improve to 13-14 overall and 11-3 in the SLC. The loss drops A&M-Commerce to 9-18 overall and 5-9 in league play.
The trio of
McKenzie Moore,
Carissa Chainey, and
Tshilanda Diouf all collected double digit kills with Moore leading all players with 13. Chainey ended the match with 12 and Diouf added 10. Diouf ended the match with a .714 hitting percent without committing and error in 14 attempts.
Bailey Tillman and
Kendall Osgood continued their solid play in the back row by picking up 18 and 15 digs, respectively. With her 18 digs, Tillman moves into the Top 10 in McNeese career digs with 1,242 career digs.
SET 1
• It was back and forth for the early part of the set
• With McNeese leading 9-8, the Cowgirls went on a 6-0 run behind

• The Lions opened the set by winning the first five points before
Carissa Chainey scored the first point for McNeese following a Cowgirl timeout
• With A&M-Commerce leading 9-5, McNeese went on a 5-1 run to tie the set at 10 all
• A&M-Commerce scored the next point for the brief lead then the Cowgirls scored three straight points to take a 13-11 lead
• Late in the set and McNeese leading 20-17, Chainey put the Cowgirls up 21-17 on a kill then served for the next three points to extend the lead to 24-17.
• A kill by Moore would give McNeese the win to take a 2-0 match lead
SET 3
• McNeese jumped out to a 7-1 lead but a 9-3 run by A&M-Commerce tied it at 10 apiece
• The Cowgirls regrouped and regained the lead at 23-19 and were two points away from a straight set win but the Lions would go on to outscore McNeese 6-0 to steal the set and avoided the sweep
SET 4
• McNeese jumped out to an early 14-5 lead behind the serve of
Kendall Osgood,
McKenzie Moore and
Carissa Chainey.
• The Cowgirls got a kill by
Tshilanda Diouf and took advantage of two Lion errors to extend the lead to 20-8
• Chainey finished off the match with her 12
th kill to give the Cowgirls the win
