LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball couldn't stop Louisiana-Monroe's inside game, allowing the Warhawks to score 46 points in the paint in its 87-53 loss Saturday on the final day of its inaugural MTE.

McNeese (1-4) was led in scoring by
Cristina Gil's season high 14 points including three 3-pointers.
Mireia Yespes ended the game with 10 points and a team high eight rebounds.

ULM who improved to 4-1 placed three players in double figures.  Katlyn Manuel scored a game high 21-points and Daisha Bradford (15) and Sania Wells (14) also scored in double figures.

The Warhawks opened the game with a three-pointer then extended the lead to 5-2 on its way to a 39-20 halftime lead.

ULM continued to have its way on the inside as well as getting several fast break points to take its largest lead of the game (85-49) with 2.23 to play.

The Cowgirls didn't help their cause by turning the ball over 22 times and ULM took advantage of those turnovers by scoring 22 points off the McNeese turnovers.

It also wasn't the best shooting night for the Cowgirls this season who could have been feeling the effects of playing three games in three days.

McNeese ended the game shooting 29.5 percent from the field (18-61) and 20.7 percent (6-29) from behind the arc.

The Warhawks shot 48.6 percent (36-74) from the field and outrebounded the Cowgirls 48-38.

McNeese will conclude its six-game home stand next Tuesday, Nov. 21 with a 5 p.m. game against North American University.
