LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball returned home Sunday to pick up a 102-28 win over Ecclesia College to improve to 3-5 on the year.
The 100-point output is the second time McNeese scores at least 100-points in one week. The Cowgirls defeated North American University 107-77 on Tuesday.
Five Cowgirls scored in double figures and all but one McNeese player who saw playing time scored at least seven points.
Emilia Tenbrock came off the bench to lead the Cowgirls with 22 points.
Helena Galunic (14 pts.),
Azjah Reeves and
Julia Puente both scored 11 points, and
Alva Mofalk chipped in with 11 points. Galunic and Puente both led McNeese with seven rebounds apiece. McNeese won the rebound battle 38-19.
Mofalk scored the Cowgirls' first two points of the game and McNeese never looked back, holding a 24-7 first quarter lead and 60-13 at the half.
McNeese continued to go inside where they ended the game scoring 54 points in the paint and 33 off 31 Ecclesia turnovers.
The Cowgirls dished out 26 assists and turned the ball over a season low nine times.
The second half was nearly a mirror of the first half with the Cowgirls outscoring Ecclesia 42-15 and holding its largest lead of 77 points with 1:04 to play.
The Cowgirls will return home on Dec. 14 when they will host Centenary in a 5:30 p.m. game. McNeese will travel to Kansas State (Dec. 6) and LSU on Dec. 12.
