BATON ROUGE – The McNeese track and field teams will get in one final indoor meet before the Southland Conference Championships when it competes at the LSU Twilight on Friday at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse.
Field events will begin at 10 a.m. with the women's weight throw followed by the men at 11:30. Running events will start at 1 p.m. with the men's 60-meter hurdles and followed by the women.
Several Cowboys and Cowgirls are entered as they prepare for the Feb. 26-27 SLC Championships in Birmingham.
Reigning Southland Conference Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week –
Morgan Talley and
Mariah Lee, will both be in action. Talley, who was named the track athlete of the week after setting a new school record in the 60-meter hurdles at last week's Vanderbilt Music City Challenge, will compete in the triple jump at LSU while Lee will once again compete in the weight throw event where she improved on her SLC-best mark while setting a new personal record.
Teams entered including McNeese and host LSU are Alcorn State, Dillard, Hinds CC, LeTourneau, Loyola-New Orleans, Meridian CC, Mississippi Valley, Mobile, New Orleans, Nicholls, Northwestern State, Southeastern, Tiger Olympians, Tulane, US Express Elite Track Club, and Xavier-Louisiana.
