Ducal's first career goal forces tie with Southern

LAKE CHARLES - McNeese's soccer program (2-4-1) fought Southern (1-4-1) to a 1-1 tie at Cowgirl Field Sunday afternoon with both goals coming in the latter half of the match.

"I thought the last 15-20 minutes when we were under the gun was good," said head coach Drew Fitzgerald. "We have to figure out how to go out with injuries and be competitive."

Southern scored the first goal of the match in the 46th minute of play to take a 1-0 lead.

Sophomore Dom Ducal tied up the match in the 82nd minute with an assist by freshman Morgan Fiedler. It was Ducal's first goal of the season and Fiedler's first assist of the season.

McNeese returns to the road this upcoming weekend against Jackson State in Jackson, Mississippi.
