ARLINGTON, Texas—McNeese volleyball couldn't overcome solid blocking by North Texas and an inconsistent serve receive Saturday in its 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-19) to the Eagles on the final day of the Texas-Arlington Invite.
McNeese (2-11) was out blocked 17-8 and picked up nine serve reception errors.
Kayla Wilson and
McKenzie Moore were the bright spots for the Cowgirls. Wilson ended the match with 10 kills and Moore had a .429 hitting percent with six kills on 14 attempts without an error.
North Texas (6-7) was led by Sh'Diamond Holly's match high 12 kills.
McNeese will return home for its next three matches beginning with a Tuesday match against UL-Monroe.
Set 1
• Both teams put together scoring runs throughout the set
• Trailing 10-8, North Texas went on a 7-2 run to take a 15-12 lead
• McNeese responded with a 4-0 run to take a 16-15 lead
• With the set tied at 20, North Texas went on a 5-0 run to take the set

• North Texas jumped out to an early 4-0 lead then extended the lead to 7-2
• McNeese trailed by as many as seven points (17-10) then outscored North Texas 5-1 to pull to within three points (18-15) behind the serve of
Bailey Tillman
• North Texas ended the set on a 7-4 run to take the set and a 2-0 match lead
Set 3
• McNeese opened the set by taking a 4-2 lead and then led again 10-8
• North Texas outscored the Cowgirls 3-0 to take an 11-10 lead
• A kill by
Sanni Rantanen tied the set at 11 but a 7-1 run by North Texas gave the Eagles an 18-12 lead and one McNeese couldn't overcome.
• The closest McNeese would get at the end of the set would be five points (22-17) following a
Megan Grose kill
