LAKE CHARLES - McNeese's soccer program (3-4-2, 0-0-1 SLC) battled Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3-4-3, 0-1-1 SLC) to a 1-1 draw after two late goals by each team at Cowgirl Field Friday night.
"I think the girls did a great job of sticking to the game plan, even when it was difficult in moments," said head coach
Drew Fitzgerald. "I thought our group did a great job of staying organized."
A&M-Corpus Christi scored the first goal of the match in the 75th minute of play to break the scoreless streak for both teams.
The Cowgirls responded just moments later as senior
Martine Ellefsen evened the tide with her first collegiate goal in the 78th minute of play.
McNeese takes to the road to face Nicholls Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
