BATON ROUGE – McNeese's men's and women's track and field programs claimed two gold medals at the 2024 LSU Purple tiger Invite to kick off the 2024 campaign on Friday evening.
 
Notes: 
• Jalon White won the 600m run for the first time in his career with a personal best time of 1:19.77… He placed fifth in the event in the meet last year
• Ondray Miles came in second right behind White by less than a second at 1:20.11
• Mariah Lee earned second in the weight throw, her second-best career mark
• Sakari Famous earned her second consecutive high jump title at the LSU Purple Tiger Meet
• Nine Cowboys and Cowgirls finished in the top three over the course of the day
 
Next up: On the docket for the track and field programs is the Samford Invitational on Jan. 18-19 in Birmingham, Alabama.
