LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's tennis opened its 2024 season with a doubleheader sweep over Prairie View Friday afternoon, taking both matches by a 5-0 score.
The Cowgirls dominated the day, winning six singles matches in straight sets and winning all four doubles matches in one set. The Cowgirls dropped only one set all day.
Emma-Lou Pommiers was 3-0 on the day with two wins coming in singles competition. Pommiers picked up a win at No. 2 singles in the opening match and a win at the top singles in the second match of the day. Pommiers teamed with

Anastasija Adeikyte defeated Ainara Ridriguez 6-0, 2-6, 10-6 in at the No. 3 singles for her career collegiate win in the opening match of the day. Adeikyte teamed with junior college transfer
Arina Gamretkaia as the Cowgirls' No. 1 double team to win both of their matches.
The Cowgirls will travel to New Orleans for a 1 p.m. Saturday match at Tulane and a 12 p.m. Sunday match at Dillard.
