HAMMOND -- Southeastern set the tone early with eight blocks in the opening set on its way to a straight set (25-12, 25-20, 25-16) Southland Conference volleyball win over McNeese Saturday to extend its winning streak to 15 straight matches and remain undefeated in league play.
McNeese falls to 7-11 overall and 3-3 in the SLC. Southeastern improves to 15-4 overall and 7-0 in the SLC.
The Cowgirls return home next Thursday, Oct. 17 to host Houston Christian and next Saturday, Oct. 19 to host Incarnate Word.

• The set was back and forth for the first few points until three straight blocks by Southeastern ignited a scoring run to give the Lady Lions an 11-4 lead.
• Southeastern would continue to extend the lead to 20-6 with a 7-0 run
• McNeese went on a 4-0 scoring run but it was a little too late as the Lady Lions took the first set on a block, their eighth of the set.
• Southeastern ended the set with a .452 hitting percent while the Cowgirls ended with a negative hitting percent
Set 2
• Another close set for the first 16 points that included five ties
• Southeastern went on a 5-1 run to lead 13-9
• McNeese countered with a run of its own to pull to within one point 15-14 and then another run (4-1) to pull to withing 20-19 late in the set
• Southeastern closes the set on a 4-0 run to take a 2-0 match lead
Set 3
• McNeese took an early 3-2 lead but Southeastern came back with a 6-1 run to take a lead 13-8 lead and never looked back
• McNeese got as close as six points late in the set (19-13) before Southeastern ended the match on a 6-3 run
